Ok; Happy New Year! We are just back from our holidays in the big city and had a great time. I went back to work today, thankfully for a short week.
A couple of pictures from pre-Christmas: Drew and Cadence playing shadows in the road, and playing as usual at dinner.
The morning of our departure for Toronto. Cadence loves playing with Tofu's dishes. That morning he apparently also liked wearing his hat inside. With tape.
Uncle Steve and Aunt Lee left gifts for Cadence to open upon our arrival. Tofu look on with interest; he loves opening gifts! Oh--actually this is a board game that Santa delivered on Christmas Eve. Like Scrabble but fast fast fast...doesn't get better than that!
Cadence really loved going to the subway station to see the buses, and riding on the train.
This is Cadence eating his Christmas morning pancakes, out of little Lennie's dog dish. He's really into feeding himself now but we didn't want to risk any proper dishes getting broken at our host's house...but metal is perfect!
We had a great Christmas dinner at Auntie Mer's condo, with most of the Gauley Family. Was lovely but alas we don't have any pictures. Lots of people, gifts everywhere, food, you can create your own mental pic I'm sure.
A boxing day visit with Auntie Mer & Nana was very nice--pizza, Cadence's favourite, and lots of story-telling.
We made the trip back on NY Eve all in one day, stopping for a late lunch/early dinner at Harvey's. Here Cadence had a veggie burger all to himself--mustard, ketchup, relish, tomato & lettuce. He quite liked it.
We also stopped at the Cookstown mall for a short break where Drew actually put a loonie into the riding toy for Cadence. He particularly liked the motor boat and the chip truck.
Playing in the driveway yesterday. I think he's really into the freedom that walking is bringing.
As a side note, Cadence went to daycare today and just loves it. His favourite activities are colouring, and Mr. Potato Head. Apparently he'd stick to these activities all day if allowed to do so.

scrabble but fast? what's it called? we gotta get us that game.
Pick Two. With the right crowd, can get rowdy. Other groups, not so much so. We'll bring it along if we ever make it to NS!
